Geotest Secures Lockheed Martin Contract To Provide Fighter Helicopter Test Systems
Irvine, CA (September 25, 2002) – Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc., a global supplier of electronic test equipment for aerospace, semiconductors, telecom, medical, industrial and military applications, today announced contract awards from Lockheed Martin to build test systems for the Eurocopter Tiger helicopters.
For the contract, Geotest will provide Organizational-Level (O-Level) testers to use at the flight line to verify the Tiger’s Longbow system. The portable testers simulate weapons and enable users to perform pre-mission verification of the operational status of all armament systems. Additionally, the testers will enable Eurocopter to integrate the Longbow Missile System on the Tiger using the comprehensive missile simulation modes. The Tiger helicopter, built by Eurocopter, is known for its multiple role as an attack helicopter with the ability to fight by day and night. The first Eurocopter Tiger was launched in 1991.
Geotest's vast experience with military test applications include the development of testers for platforms such as the AH-64A Apache, AH-64D Longbow Apache, AH-1 Cobra, SH-60 Seahawk, OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, F-16 Fighting Falcon, and for weapon systems such as Hellfire (M272) and Longbow (M299). Additional test related products include Hellfire Missile Simulators and Laser Source Simulators (LSS) for laser-guided munitions.
