Geotest Introduces 100% Compatible Dual Channel Programmable Pulse Generator for HP Model
AUTOTESTCON 2003 - ANAHEIM, Calif. (September 20, 2003) - Geotest-Marvin Test Systems, Inc., a global supplier of electronic test equipment for aerospace, semiconductor, telecom, medical, industrial and military applications, announced the introduction of the GP1550H, series of dual-channel GPIB-programmable pulse generators that are 100% Form-Fit-Function replacements for HP8160A Pulse Generators.
The GP1550H series was developed as a result of the growing need for a replacement for the obsolete HP8160A. The HP8160A was a popular pulse generator in the 1980s, and is still being used in thousands of aerospace testers. Since it's obsolescence, HP8160A users have encountered a number of difficulties maintaining test systems using this pulse generator. Without a fully compatible replacement such as the GP1550H, the only options available to these customers were purchasing parts in the used equipment marketplace, or redesigning the tester and all of its test program sets at the potential cost of tens of millions of dollars.
"The GP1550H is our latest addition to Geotest's line of obsolescence replacement solutions," said Loofie Gutterman, Geotest president. "Products such as these allow our customers to protect their initial investment in legacy systems, while significantly reducing maintenance costs."
The GP1550H series is fully compatible with the HP8160A, including output specifications and the GPIB command set. It is a 100% drop-in replacement for the HP8160A.
