Creating a System should always be done within a Project. A Project can have one and only one System. When a new project is inserted into a workspace, it contains a shortcut for the System. A System shortcut is a placeholder for where the new System should go.
To create a new System, right-click on the Project or System shortcut. Select the option to create a New System from the context menu.
After you have added a System, a plus sign appears next to its name in the tree view on the left-hand pane. This indicates that the System exists and has submodules that can be examined.
Alternatively, you can add a new System by clicking the New item on the File menu. A dialog, New, displays. From this dialog, you can choose the file type you want to add.
Select "System" from the list of possible components and click "OK." A new System is created and added to the active project.
If you already have a System in your Project, the new System will be outside your Project's hierarchy in the tree view on the left-hand side of the screen. A System outside of a Project can be edited, but you cannot run or test it. To make the new System part of a Project, create a new Project, make that Project the active project by clicking on it in the Workspace window, and insert the new System under it.
