Before Installation

Electro Static Discharge Precautions

To reduce the risk of Electro Static Discharge  to circuit boards, always observe the following precautions:

Warning

Caution - Static-sensitive devices are present. Ground yourself to discharge any static electricity charge.

     Wear a grounding strap.

Leave the board in the anti-static bag before installation. The anti-static bag protects the board from harmful static electricity.

Save the anti-static bag to store the board if it is removed from the computer.

Handle the board only at the edges. Avoid touching components.

Carefully unpack the board. Do not drop the board or handle it roughly. A hairline fracture can cause unreliable operation.

Unpack for Inspection

When you are ready to begin installing:

1.    Follow all precautions for discharge static electricity above.

2.    Check the contents of the shipping carton to verify that all items match the packing list. (See Packing List below.)

3.    Inspect the board for damage. Return any damaged units to Marvin Test Solutions immediately. Refer to warranty information included.

4.    Return the board to its anti-static bag until ready for installation and setup.
