Clock and Strobe Sources

The following table describes the Clock and Strobe sources available for the GX5295.

Internal high-precision Programmable Clock

The GX5295 provides an Internal high-precision Programmable Clock which is programmable from 1Hz to 100MHz. Accuracy is 1HZ or 0.02% of the programmed value, whichever is larger plus the accuracy of the PLL’s reference clock (typically the PXI 10 MHz source). See the Specifications section for more details. The 10MHz clock from the PXI backplane provides a reference clock for the on-board high-precision PLL. Alternatively, an exeternal reference clock can used with the on-board PLL.

External Clock

External Clock – supplied by the user through pin 31 on the J3 Timing connector. The frequency of the clock can be from DC to 100MHz. See the Specifications section for details. This clock can also be selected to be the 10 MHz reference source for the on-board PLL instead of the PXI 10 MHz reference.

External Strobe

External Strobe – supplied by the user through pin 32 on J3 Timing connector. The frequency of the clock can be from DC to 100MHz. See the Specifications section for details. When selected, this clock is used to clock data into the DIO.
