4 Wire Resistance Measurement Guide

This section discusses setting up the DMM to perform a Kelvin (4-wire) resistance measurement between two points of the device under test.

Software panel

1.       Select “4Wire” from the function list.

2.       Select a range that is greater than your target measurement, or click the Auto button.

3.       Trigger the measurement using the Trig button or change the trigger mode to Continuous.

Additional comments

4-Wire measurements removes inaccuracies introduced by the resistance of the probe cables.  It does this by sourcing a known current value while measuring voltage.
