Board Description

The GX3104 consists of four identical source / measure channels which can be independently configured as voltage source / current measure or current source / voltage measure functionality.  Each channel has the capability to source +/- 20 VDC or +/- 250 mA, providing four quadrant operations. In addition, the board’s flexible output configuration allows  channel 0 to supply up to 1000 mA or alternatively, a combination of channels can supply up to 1 A of current. Note that channels 1, 2 and 3 can supply up to 500 mA. All four channels are galvanically isolated from the PXI bus and PXI ground but share a common isolated ground. Total output power of the module is 20W with module's power supplied by the PXI bus’s power supply rails.

A source / measure channel consists of a power opamp which can function as a programmable current source with a programmable voltage compliance or as a programmable voltage source with a programmable current limit. Each channel includes (2) 18-bit DACs for programming the voltage and current source values respectively. Measurement of voltage and current is supported by (2) 24-bit ADCs. In addition, each channel supports a kelvin sense line as well as a driven guard line, facilitating low current measurements.

A 25-pin D-type connector on the front panel supports the following signals:

Trigger Functions

The same trigger functionality can be mapped to any of the (8) PXI trigger lines (PXI0 – PXI7).
