Marvin Test Solutions Returns to 2015 International Paris Air Show with The Marvin Group

MTS to Showcase Advanced Flightline and Intermediate-Level Armament Test Solution Enhancements for Legacy and Fifth Generation Aircraft

IRVINE, Calif. – June 8, 2015 – Marvin Test Solutions a trusted provider of globally deployed innovative test solutions for military, aerospace, and manufacturing organizations, today announced it will be returning to the 2015 International Paris Air Show as part of The Marvin Group delegation in Hall 3 at booth C82, continuing a long-standing collaborative tradition. This year, Marvin Test Solutions will demonstrate and showcase the latest enhancements to its state-of-the-art flightline and intermediate-level “back shop” armament testers.

Our ongoing improvement and innovation of our core product lines is part of a deliberate strategy to make sure that our warfighters, and those of our allies, have access to the latest technology to make test easy and enhance their capabilities and mission effectiveness,” said Major General Stephen T. Sargeant, USAF (Ret.), and CEO of Marvin Test Solutions. “We are continuing to follow through on our mission to introduce greater commonality and ease of use into armament test by providing maintainers with solutions that provide for their needs while simplifying logistics and sustainment costs for operators.”

Featured Marvin Test Solutions products with new capabilities and enhancements include:

  • MTS-3060 Smartcan™, a high-performance portable handheld tester that brings previously unavailable trouble-shooting capabilities, such as full-functionality testing of the 1760 bus to the flightline, along with select smart weapon emulation, now has expanded capabilities that includes full-functional testing of the AIM-120 AMRAAM. The AMRAAM air-to-air missile remains one of the premier medium range missiles carried by U.S. and allied tactical aircraft, and previously, no suitable flightline tester allowed functional testing beyond stray voltage and continuity of circuit. The ability to test the AMRAAM’s 1760 connectivity to the aircraft will potentially enhance mission effectiveness and aircrew confidence, especially in situations where live-firing is possible. This new AMRAAM test capability has been deployed internationally on Block 15 and 50 F-16’s and has been demonstrated domestically on the F-15, with the F/A-18 scheduled for demonstration later this year. The MTS-3060 SmartCan™ has already seen foreign military sales (FMS) on several aircraft platforms.

  • MTS-206 Series Field Test Set has also evolved, expanding its support beyond the basic AGM-65 Maverick Missile family to include the new Laser Maverick and the widely deployed AGM-114 Hellfire Missile system in the latest iteration, the MTS-206-2. Now, operators of both of these proven air-to-ground munitions are able to perform I-Level test in a portable, ultra-ruggedized platform suitable for field use. The MTS-206-2 performs parametric functional tests on most variants of Hellfire Missiles (e.g., the most recent “Romeo” variant) and on all variants of the Maverick missile and its system components, such as: AGM-65 missile (all versions in tactical and training configurations), AGM-65 missile sections (GCS & CAS, all versions in tactical and training configurations), LAU-117 and LAU-88 Maverick launchers (all versions), and launcher-missile clusters.

  • MTS-916 Modular Target Simulators, featuring state-of-the-art, target simulators for TV, CCD, infrared, and laser guided weapons, the MTS-916 products line now features a total of 7 distinct configurations with the additions of the MTS-916-6 and MTS-916-7. The MTS-916 line is known for its ability to replace multiple obsolete target simulators for AGM-65 Maverick and AGM-114 Hellfire missile guidance sections, as well as MAU-169 Paveway target seeker kits. The -6 variant enables the MTS-916 to be used to test AGM-65E / E2 / L Laser Maverick seeker heads as well as AGM-114B / K / M / N / R versions of the popular Hellfire missile using the same I-level equipment. The -7 variant is designed to test laser guided Paveway munitions, thus extending the flexibility and utility of the MTS-916 family, which was originally designed to replace the obsolete AN/DSM-129 (TV/CCD simulator) and the obsolete AN/DSM-787 (IR simulator). The MTS-916 family is fully compatible with any Maverick tester using these legacy simulators, including the AN/DSM-157 Guided Missile Test Set (GMTS). Since its release, the MTS-916 has been successfully deployed globally in many countries.

  • PATS-70 flightline tester, which was co-developed with the United States Air Force to support avionics testing on the A-10C will also be on hand. Based on the proven MTS-207, a COTS product used for the entire line of ruggedized MTS-2XX systems and featuring PXI-based architecture, this solution enabled the USAF's 309th Software Maintenance Group (SMXG) at Hill Air Force Base to successfully and cost-effectively develop and deploy the PATS (Portable Automated Test Set)-70 which supports the testing of various A-10C avionics systems on the flightline. An enhanced version, the PATS-70 Alpha, is currently being developed to support armament test as well. This project is an example of successful government – industry cooperation that helped deliver the PATS-70 to the warfighter on time and on budget.

Marvin Test Solutions’ CEO, Maj Gen (Ret) Stephen T. Sargeant and President Mr. Loofie Gutterman will be attending.  To arrange a meeting with MTS please contact Ms. Donna Van Dyke at mailto:donna1@marvintest.com
