Geotest Introduces 100% Compatible Arbitrary Waveform Generator for Wavetek & Tektronix Models

Geotest Introduces 100% Compatible Arbitrary Waveform Generator for Wavetek & Tektronix Models

(AutoTestCon, Valley Forge, PA.)  Geotest - MTS, a Marvin Group company, announces the introduction of the GP1650 series, a high performance dual-channel programmable arbitrary waveform generator. The GP1650 series is a 100% compatible replacement for the Wavetek 175 and the Tektronix AWG5110.

The GP1650 series offers the ability to execute with an internal clock selectable from 20 nano-seconds to a 150 seconds point rate or with an external clock. The GP1650 series also has an output range of up to 15Vp-p into 50 ohms with a separate offset generator.  This series is ideal for use in ATE systems. All parameters, modes, and functions are programmable and fully compatible with IEEE-488.2 and Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments.

The flexibility of the GP1650 series allows for 256K channel addresses on the horizontal axis and 4096 possible levels (12 bit vertical resolution) for each address.  This gives you an array of over 1048 million points to define virtually any waveform that can be mathematically generated, transferred from computer or captured by a digital scope.

The GP1650 series incorporates a menu-driven front panel for ease of operation. An autoline feature makes waveform editing and generation simple.

The GP1650 series has an optional second channel, which enables the generation of two signals with independently adjustable parameters. Two or more units can be connected in parallel to generate multiple waveforms with adjustable phase synchronization.

The GP1650 series introduced by Geotest was developed as a result of a growing demand for a low-cost, high-performance replacement to the obsolete Wavetek 175 and Tektronix AWG5110 arbitrary waveform generators. Geotest also offers a wide range of additional instruments in PXI and PC-based formats.

Availability: Product shipment for the GP1650 series is scheduled for Q3 2001.
