Expanding on its successful line of 3U PXI dynamic digital I/O cards, Geotest now
offers a user-configurable FPGA 3U PXI Flex-DIO card that features 160 digital I/O
signals for specific application needs. The new GX3500 employs the Altera Cyclone
III FPGA that supports clock rates up to 150 MHz and features over 55,000 logic
elements. With the option to add expansion card assemblies (daughter cards), users
can create customized interfaces and circuitry, eliminating the requirement for
bulky add-on boards that normally reside outside of the module.
Unlike other FPGA PXI cards, the GX3500 does not rely upon proprietary development
tools. Using Altera's free, Quartus II Web Edition tool set, users can develop and
compile their FPGA design which can then be downloaded into the FPGA via the PXI
bus interface or via an on-board EEROM. To simplify the overall design and deployment
process, the GX3500 is supplied with tutorials and a driver library that provides
access to the FPGA's read / write registers as well as support for downloading the
compiled Altera code into the FPGA device.
Availability: The GX3500 is available for immediate delivery.
