Some instruments support more than one interface. You can add and configure multiple interfaces that are used to access the device or instrument, for the same driver. The driver commands remain the same, while the interface can be changed at will from the Driver Shortcut Properties window.
You can add and configure interfaces for the Driver from the Interfaces page of the Driver's Properties window.
When the Driver is initially created, no interfaces are enabled. The only interface which is chosen is a dummy entry in the Interfaces table called "None."

The checkboxes on the Interfaces page above list the names of the various interfaces you can add and make available to the driver such as COM, File, GPIB, ISA, VXI, USB(v7.0), and Winsock. You can check off as many interfaces as you want to make available. Keep in mind that selecting which particular interface will be used in a given instance by a driver is done at the level of the Driver Shortcut Properties.
When an interface is checked and selected, the parameters for configuring it appear to the right of the Interface table. When an interface is unchecked, the configuration parameters are grayed out. See Driver Interface Properties for detailed information about the properties for each type of interface.
