Marvin Test Solutions’ MTS-3060A SmartCan Selected for ACE Common Aviation Support Equipment Challenge Showcase Event
Irvine, Calif. – July 11, 2023 - Marvin Test Solutions (MTS), Inc., a trusted provider of globally-deployed innovative test solutions for military, aerospace, and manufacturing organizations announced that the MTS-3060A SmartCanTM, the most advanced handheld flightline armament test set available, was selected by AFWERX for its Agile Combat Employment (ACE) Common Aviation Support Equipment (CASE) Challenge Showcase Event. AFWERX, the Technology Directorate of the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and the innovation arm of the Department of the Air Force, sponsored the event.
The MTS-3060A SmartCan Universal O-Level Armament Test Set was down-selected among 27 other ACE enabling products from over 135 competing solutions and highlighted during the Showcase Event hosted by the AFWERX Innovation Hub in Las Vegas on June 21, 2023. Integrated by design and developed in conjunction with armament maintainers and munition manufacturers, the SmartCan’s ergonomic design, rapid test time, and ease of use all contribute to the proven success of the globally deployed MTS-3060A. The SmartCan’s functional performance allows the consolidation of multiple legacy large-box test sets, further illustrating its ability to reduce the existing logistics and training burden, making ACE easy and enabling Multi-Capable Airmen.

The SmartCan enables ACE and Multi-Capable Airmen by providing an aircraft agnostic, common handheld test set that is easy to deploy, maintain and use via a much reduced logistics footprint and standardized equipment. The MTS-3060A SmartCan enables the USAF’s ACE doctrine supporting the creation of Multi-Capable Airmen across the armament AFSC by providing standardized equipment and procedures, making them capable of supporting both legacy and Smart weapons test on any DOD armed aircraft, providing data for predictive maintenance, reducing logistics and training requirements, and ultimately improving warfighter effectiveness by increasing mission readiness.
