Overview of Trees and Objects

ATEasy displays relationships between objects using a Tree view, which closely resembles the directory structure used by Windows. The Workspace window always displays objects using a Tree view as explained in Workspace Window. However, trees are also used in Document views as explained in Displaying Object Views.

A Tree view lists the following kinds of objects:

Expandable objects - equivalent to a Windows directory and can hold other (child) objects. They are distinguished by their Plus or Minus icon (). Project, Program, and System modules are examples of expandable objects.

A Plus icon shows that the expandable object is collapsed. A Minus icon shows that the object is expanded and displaying its child objects. For information on opening expandable objects, see Expanding and Collapsing Tree Objects.

Non-expandable objects - equivalent to Windows file. Individual procedures or tests are examples of non-expandable objects.

Trees appear in Document frames and Workspace windows. For more information, see Document Views and Workspace Window.
