The simplest I/O Table requires at least one Output operation and one Send operation. For example, you may want to set the measurement mode of an instrument to Volts DC as explained in Example: Setting the Measurement Mode of a DMM.
To create an I/O Table:
1. Choose the Driver module in which to create the I/O Table.
2. Click the I/O Tables submodule to select it and click Insert Object Below to create a new I/O Table. If you need help inserting a new I/O Table, see Inserting Objects.
3. Define
the name and description of the newly created I/O Table by selecting Properties
from the View menu. Enter the
name and description in the corresponding fields.
4. Click in the Operations area of the I/O Table Tree view and use Insert At or Insert After to insert a new I/O Table operation. By default, an Output operation is inserted. For a list of operations, see I/O Table Operations.
5. Define
the properties for each operation by first selecting the operation, then
open the Properties window for the operation by selecting Properties
from the View
menu. Select the operator type and fill in any properties as necessary
for that operation.
For more information on individual operations properties, see the following:
Delay Properties, Input
Properties, Output Properties, Receive Properties, Send
Properties, and Trig Properties.
6. After you create an I/O Table, you can call it as explained in Using I/O Tables.
