File Formats

The files discussed under File Types can be saved in the following file formats:

Binary format. This is the default format readable only by ATEasy. Files in this format load more quickly than files in text format.

Text format. Files in this format have an extension that ends in "T" (for example, PGT, DRT). Text files can be edited with any text editor and different text files can be compared to highlight differences. You can load a text format file into ATEasy and save it in binary format. See File Types for additional files (.FRX) that may be created when saving module text files (DRT, SYT and PGT).

Binary+Text file formats. (v7 or newer) You can save a file in both formats. If you select this as default file format in the Options, then every file you created and opened is saved in both formats - one for binary format and the other for text format.

You can save a file in either text or binary format or both formats by using the Save As option from the File menu. For more information, see Saving Documents. You can also change the default save format from binary to text as explained in Controlling Save Options.
