Adding External Source- GX1838 DC Power Source

Hello,

I'm using GX1838 card. I use four outputs, nd each of them should output 0-6v and 0.5A minimum. I made checks, and realized that I have to use the external rail source (instead of the internal). My question is: how should I use the external source? do I have to connect to it a programmable power supply? How am I supposed to implement using the external power source in hardware and software?
