The GX7005A is a high-performance, 6U, 20-slot PXI chassis. [2] It can accommodate up to 19 instruments and a PXI controller or bus expander interface. [2] It is designed to support Geotest's high-performance digital instrument cards, such as up to 16 GX5055 or 17 GX5960 cards. [2] The GX7005A chassis has a high power (4.5 KW) system power configuration for high-performance digital test applications. [1, 3] It includes a built-in CD-RW, hard disk, rack mount, and cable tray. [2]
The GX7005A features eight 100 CFM fans for instrument cooling and separate fans for the system power supplies. [1, 2, 3] The cooling system provides positive airflow per the PXI specification. [1, 2, 3] The chassis also incorporates "Smart" features, including slot temperature and system power supply voltage monitoring, automatic fan speed control, and PXI trigger mapping. [1, 2, 3] The temperature monitoring function can be programmed for specific warning and shutdown limits. [1, 2, 3] Slot temperatures are monitored by an on-board microcontroller. [2] An audible alarm sounds upon an out-of-temperature condition, and system power can be disabled if an absolute temperature limit is exceeded. [2]
The GX7005A is available with an optional 6U MAC Panel SCOUT receiver. [2] It also supports mass interconnect interfaces from Virginia Panel and ITT Cannon via the GX7500 Universal Receiver Interface. [1, 2] The chassis includes an integrated 2U cable tray. [2]
